JAKE Jake is the leader of the Animorphs. Unlike most leaders, he did not "rise to power" by grabbing for it himself; he is a reluctant leader, elected unofficially by his followers, and it's all because he has the people skills and the mental capacity to make plans, carry them out, and for the most part, stay sane while doing so. As the war goes on, he fights partially for personal reasons (as his brother was made into a Controller and he wishes to free him) and partially because he is the best man for the job and he knows his planet needs him. As he gets more and more competent at his leadership position, however, he becomes less and less capable of forming normal human relationships, and his social and emotional life suffers. Physical: Jake is tall and solidly built, light-skinned, with fairly short brown hair and brown eyes. Relationships: Son of Steve and Jean, younger brother of Tom. Cousin of Rachel, significant other of Cassie, best friend of Marco, protector (initially) of Tobias, and "prince" to Ax. Also related to Jordan and Sara (Rachel's sisters, his cousins), Dan and Naomi (Rachel's parents, Jake's aunt and uncle), George and Ellen (aunt and uncle), Saddler, Justin, Brooke, and Forrest (his cousins), and his great-grandfather Grandpa G and his great-great-great-granduncle.
