[shelly] Shelly: Book 1 onward. Changes her hair color often—it’s brown in Book 1 and reddish when Ivy meets her again in Book 2; blue eyes, metal jewelry, garish fingernail designs. Owns a nail salon and does fundraisers with her husband. Meets Ivy one day when she’s late for the bus; Ivy offers to fly her to her fundraiser and during the trip Shelly tells her she should be more careful about who she reveals her abilities to since she’s very shameless about it. In Book 2, Shelly helps Ivy decide she wants to go to school (and makes her promise to further her skills by taking a music class), and later introduces her to Justine, who becomes her music teacher.
