NICKY

[Nicky] Nicole Harris
Series role: Introduced in Book 2 as one of Ivy’s school friends, along with group members Andrea and Mandy. Helps teach Ivy about friendship and being one of the girls.

THE PHYSICAL:

Vitals: Perm-waved light brown chin-length hair with blonde highlights, sometimes worn in perky styles or with headbands. Average size brown eyes with tasteful liner and shadow. Tanned skin, accented with appropriate makeup. In Book 2, age 15, average height and just a little above desired weight.

Other features: Has a flirty feminine voice and loud laugh. Does a lot of eye-rolling and fingernail-tapping. Very stylish and somewhat revealing clothes. Double-pierced ears with small tasteful earrings and jewelry that tends toward expensive.

THE PERSONAL:

Talents/Abilities: Talking, organizing, typing, and finding out dirt.

Weaknesses/Shortcomings: Likes to gossip, overly boy-crazy, a little dishonest (likes to snoop), and a tad judgmental.

Interests: Her friends’ love lives, boys and more boys, clothes and shopping, ice cream, skating, music, television, and makeup/hairstyle trends.

Other information: High school student. Doesn’t pay attention to politics. Sometimes goes to church with her family when she is bullied into it, but does privately believe in God. Very, very interested in boys. Has a family full of sisters—one older sister (Sharon) and younger twin sisters (Stephanie and Diane), plus a mom and dad.

THE STORY:

Nicky met Ivy when Andrea brought her to the lunch table. She gets a little annoyed when Andrea does this sort of thing, but tolerates it in general. It turned out Nicky really liked Ivy because she was very up-front and generally an interesting personality, even if she struck her as a bit foreign. Nicky always privately thought that Ivy’s story didn’t add up, and used her job in the secretarial office to check up on her while she was snooping on her friends’ grades as well. When she found out Ivy was not actually registered for school, she confronted her, and Ivy asked her to keep that a secret. Eventually everything came out, including Andrea and Mandy’s hidden information. They decided to stay friends anyway, and now and then Ivy visits the girls at Nicky’s house and they play games or hang out or go places. Nicky enjoys knowing Ivy and thinks she’s exotic and interesting, but feels sorry for her, knowing she personally would not be able to deal with being so different.
