Please note that because I want to retain my first publishing rights, my novels are not posted on the Internet. Only that which is within "sample material" guidelines—what one would send as a partial for an agent or publisher—can be posted here. Full manuscripts on in-progress works are sometimes provided to those who volunteer for the test reader list I do for every new novel. Comments and questions always welcome!
Some connections:
- My "pro" writing site: Slicker and with less irrelevant and weird stuff.
- My writing blog: Blogspot site devoted to my writing in a sillier, more personable way than the pro site.
- Short Stories Page: Some of my best writing is here in the form of short fiction. On those that are published here, you get the whole story.
- Negative One: My webcomic is text-heavy and reads more like an illustrated novel than a comic sometimes. Its storyline is a precursor to the setting of The House That Ivy Built series.
- So You Write: This funny webcomic is about being a writer. I draw in manga style.
- Adventures in Novel-Writing: An essay about my writing. This is my blow-by-blow account of my growth as a writer, based on six novels I wrote.
- Diary of a Writer: An essay: Stream-of-consciousness weirdness about the flow of time during the creative process.
- The Inheritance Cycle: I know some of MY teenage writing is bad, but here are my (very harsh but honest) thoughts on Christopher Paolini's bestsellers. Go to this page to read my essays on the Inheritance series, view comments, and see supplemental materials.
- Two poems I've written that have to do with writing: "Up All Night" and "One Masterpiece."
