The House That Ivy Built Encyclopedia

ZOE

[Zoe] Zoe Greer
Series role: Zoe is just another money-contributor to the house, but has a couple purposes: She acts as Dax’s girlfriend in the first couple books, and in Book 2 she assists greatly in helping Ivy get into school.

THE PHYSICAL:

Vitals: Naturally white-blonde, perm-waved hair down to the middle of her back, decorated with sparkly barrettes or ribbons sometimes or worn loose. Wide-set light blue eyes with pale eyebrows, usually accented by blue eyeshadow. Light, pinkish skin. Late teens, slightly short and curvy.

Other features: Light voice, very precise way of enunciating. Sweet smile with dimples, raises her almost-invisible eyebrows a lot. Wears a little too much makeup, clothes and jewelry are stylish, fingernails are sculpted and long but unpainted. Has rather muscular legs from skating.

THE PERSONAL:

Talents/Abilities: Very good skater, good at flirting, very good at getting her way, tends to be helpful around the house. Excellent at volleyball.

Weaknesses/Shortcomings: Can be naïve, a little bit too flirty, too image-conscious.

Interests: International cuisine, skating, pop music, shopping, guys in general, Dax in particular (even when she’s not dating him), house gossip.

Other information: Works in a skating rink, never went to college. Oblivious to politics, raised in a vaguely Christian household but dropped most of her parents’ ideals. A little boy-crazy; likes Dax but has begun thinking about what it will be like to start a family and knows she can’t do it with someone who’s not her species. Has a family in Florida with a little brother and lots of friends from the skating rink and school. Shares a room with Bradleigh and gets along with her, Robin, Ivy, and most of the others. Easily impressed.

THE STORY:

Because of her open mind and the possibility for a positive experience for Dax, Adele spotted Zoe as a good candidate for the house and sent Ivy to talk to her. At the beginning of Book 1 Zoe had pretty much just moved in and was still getting settled. In Book 1 she does little besides exist and tease Ivy about starting a relationship with Zeke, but in Book 2 Zoe is important in pulling strings to get Ivy into her old high school. Later on she backs away from her relationship with Dax and begins pursuing other subjects.
