[jesse] Jesse: Book 4 onward. Messy purple hair, brown eyes, child-like expression, mid-twenties. Multi-talented artist. Good friend and work partner of Ruben. After Ivy leaves California to chase Max and some of her dreams, Ruben finds this new friend and Ivy gets jealous. He makes it possible for Ruben’s workshop to expand, and Ivy gets frustrated that Ruben cares so much about some guy she barely knows. Ivy having to work through her possessiveness and jealousy takes up a side plot of Book 4, and she still gives him and Ruben a hard time in Book 5. Bonds with Ivy in Book 4 by saying his dyslexia always made him feel very different.
