THE STORY:
Fred and his long-term partner Meri Lin knew something was odd when their daughter was born with such peculiar features, but when her mother came to him saying their child had special powers, he didn’t know what to believe. They had no idea what to do but swore to keep it a secret until they had taught her how NOT to use her ability. They struggled for nearly two years with this problem before baby Ivy flew out the window and never came back. The police registered it as a kidnapping, but Ivy never stayed in one place long enough to be recognized, and eventually she disappeared into her life with Adele and the beach people. When she appeared in a tabloid years later for having won a prize with her talent, her mother wrote to her and brought her back into their lives. Fred was disappointed that his daughter had no formal education, and got her to agree to let him teach her the things he loves.
