Ivy is more or less the definition of an impulsive person.
However, she has a point. Too many people live their lives worrying about tomorrow, and it consumes their today. Finding the proper balance between complete lack of regard for the future and proper respect for the present is very important. So don’t leap headfirst into every situation without thinking it through, but don’t spend so much time thinking that you never do move until today has passed you by.
Find something you love and do it! This world contains many simple pleasures, and you can probably think of one or two right now that take very little effort to enjoy. Ivy’s got one:
If you feel bored, depressed, or just plain annoyed, do something else. There is no time like the present. Grab a friend and go have a milkshake, and ignore the calories. Jump in your car and drive until you find water. Start a novel even if you can’t write; draw a picture even if you’re no artist. But do something. It’s your day. It’s your life.
