THE WISDOM OF THE IVYVERSE

       Sometimes, feeling like you belong is as simple as having a close friend. Ivy feels that way about Weaver:

[A]fter my experiences in the outside world, I was just ready to hang out with someone I couldn’t offend if I tried. —Ivy, Book 1, Chapter 10

       Other times, it’s a feeling like you’ve found the place where you need them and they need you:

“I knew there had to be magic for me somewhere.” —Nina, Book 1, Chapter 3

“You heard what Nina said. She’s been waitin’ for someone like Ivy. It’s like she knows she was meant to be part of . . . whatever this is.” —Francis, Book 1, Chapter 7

       Sometimes it’s about finding someone special:

“[J]ust live your own life and if you're meant to find someone to share it, it'll happen. ” —Adele, Negative One, 0014

       And it’s always possible that finding where you belong and where you feel comfortable requires taking a chance:

“If no one trusted anyone else, none of us would have any friends.” —Francis, Book 1, Chapter 7

       No one ever knows for sure that the road they’ve chosen will lead to where they “belong.” Ivy and her friends have more trouble than most finding people to accept them unconditionally, but they found each other. You may never find someone who’s just like you, or understands you on every level, but when you encounter it, don’t let it go. It’s precious.
