The House That Ivy Built Encyclopedia

Concepts

Throughout the books, there are themes that recur. Ivy finds certain issues or motifs popping up again and again in her life, and in this section, some of the major subjects are highlighted and outlined.

Though there are many others, the subjects covered here are Ivy's concept of wind art, Ivy’s concept of family; Ivy’s concept of romance and relationships; Ivy’s concept of fitting in; Ivy’s concept of religion; Ivy’s concept of her musical ability, art, and dance; and Ivy’s concept of authority. Each is explained and supported with quotes from the books.
