THE PHYSICAL:
Vitals: Super-thick long curly dark green hair with bangs. Small wide-set eyes with pearly white irises. Yellowish-tan skin. Has small curly horns that her hair almost hides. Slightly longer-than-average canine teeth. Indeterminate age, probably around 11 in Book 1, average height and very lithe while not being bony.
Other features: Has a chirping little-girl voice with a very wild laugh. Very flat nose. Hands and feet have thick, long nails that resemble claws. Wears thin, light clothes that don’t restrict movement—often flimsy shorts and little tank shirts. Never wears jewelry but sometimes paints her nails with Nina. Her blood is clear instead of red.
THE PERSONAL:
Talents/Abilities: Good at climbing trees, running fast, fighting, and inventing games. Great hand-eye coordination. Good sense of smell. Strong for her size. Has lots of energy.
Weaknesses/Shortcomings: Loses control sometimes and gets too rambunctious to be in the house. Shy around strangers. Accidentally scratches herself and others sometimes. Cannot read. Slightly insensitive sometimes.
Interests: Playing with Thursday and Nina, playing secret agent games or pretending she’s a drummer in a band, trying to make friends, baking brownies, playing games that usually result in a mess. Likes bugs, birds, and critters.
Other information: Gets frustrated that she can’t go to school and meet other kids. Her favorite person to play with is Nina, but her “best friend” is Thursday. Doesn’t get along with Bailey.
THE STORY:
Tab and Thursday were found within a week of each other in Book 0, and Adele turned responsibility for Tab over to Ivy while she cared for the then-fragile Thursday. Tab was a feral child at first, and tended to scratch and snarl at anyone who approached her, so Ivy was needed to tame her. She fought domestication for years, but eventually developed language and “proper” behavior. Ivy learned responsibility through caring for Tab, and later when she was not constantly in need of supervision she took to playing with Thursday in the forest. She is not a major character, but her unique situation is sometimes a focus.
