[mr. grant] Norman Grant: Book 4. Balding, very square glasses, salt-and-pepper mustache, blue eyes, late fifties. CEO of the Grant Institute. As one of many projects, offered through his psychological society a contest asking for proof of any kind of ESP. At Ruben’s suggestion, Ivy applies for and wins the prize, and Grant feels relieved the contest is over and excited that there is more to the world than he had thought. He and Ivy actually bond during the short time they talk—she found him almost fatherly—even though he is contracted to pay her a million dollars. He also tries unsuccessfully to protect her (and himself) from trashy reporters.
