Eagle's Path
I was very upset that this song was over seven minutes long (one of the longest songs I've ever drawn, possibly THE longest), and I still didn't manage to draw anything like what I'd imagined for this song. The picture I finally drew didn't convey anything about what I felt while listening to this song. It's called "Eagle's Path" and is very appropriately named. The beginning of the song conveys a very profound loneliness that one would feel flying alone. But it goes into this amazing streak of beauty that makes the loneliness worth it. The sky is a very stark place but there is so much to see. The sights are indescribable. I was not able to draw this magnificence at all. I never would be able to, not in seven minutes or seven hours. Because it's something that moves and is experienced, not put on paper . . . and I'm doing my best to describe it, even though that doesn't really come close either. After the magnificence of the sky is revealed in the middle part of this song, it reverts into the lonely sounds again, a reminder that this is only for someone who flies alone. Again, it's just impossible to describe so maybe I'd better stop trying . . . I should just say that the music does an excellent job of taking you there, even though I can't with my words or my picture. :(
