Hiho/Anna's top 12 fictional characters and the reasons behind the why.

1. Han Solo, Star Wars - I think he's one of the things that makes the Star Wars films works (and the lack of him is why the prequels don't). He gets all the best lines and he's played by Harrison Ford - yeah, this one is mostly just looks, I guess. Picture; http://www.freewebs.com/metee/Han.jpg

2. Briar Moss, 'Circle of Magic' and 'The Circle Opens' by Tamora Pierce- After I read 'Street Magic' I had such a crush on him, so much so that I spent ages trying to work a plant-mage character into something I was writing (I still haven't managed this). The descriptions of him always sounded so cute.

3. Aragorn, 'The Lord of the Rings' by JRR Tolkien - Just the film version. The character I thought was rather dull, but he looks fantastic (though not so much out of costume). Picture; http://www.freewebs.com/metee/aragorn.jpg

4. Hawkeye Pierce, M*A*S*H - Early on in the series, he's a funny, liberal womanizer. I liked him better when he stopped the womanizing (or at least once the woman started saying 'no'). He's got a great sense of humour, and about the same views as me, which would lead to hopefully having lots to talk about afterwards. Picture; http://www.freewebs.com/metee/hawkeye.jpg

5. Wash (Hoban Washburne) Firefly - Yet another really funny character. He's also a pilot (though he doesn't own the ship) and had enough sense to shave off his mooustache. He's also married to Zoe, who is gorgeous, so he must be doing something right. http://www.freewebs.com/metee/wash.jpg

6. Dia Passik/Diap'assik, Star Wars EU (X-wing books), created by Aaron Allston - No, she's not obscure. Well, maybe a little. Anyway, she's a Twi'lek (and they're all sexy) with a rather dark past (she used to be a slave, y'know) who hooks up with another of my favorite characters (Face Loran). 7. The Tenth Doctor, Doctor Who - David Tennant is one of the few actors to play this character who's actually good looking. He's also my favorite, out of the ones I've seen (six out of ten of them). 'Am I.. ginger?' is probably my favorite line. Plus he wears a trench coat, and who doesn't love a trenchcoat? Picture; http://www.freewebs.com/metee/ten.jpg

8. Captain Jack Sparrow, Pirates of the Carribean - This one speaks for itself, doesn't it? He's the only good character in the first film. Johnny Depp is hawt.

9. Oz (Daniel Osbourne), Buffy the Vampire Slayer) - I LIKE WEREWOLVES. A lot. And Oz was great before he was a werewolf - his hair changes colour a lot, his thoughts (in the mid-reading episode) are wonderful. He takes becoming a werewolf very well, and then he takes his girlfriend coming out of the closet very well, which is good to know. As a precaution. Picture; http://www.freewebs.com/metee/oz.jpg

10. Wes Janson, various Star Wars EU books, essentially created by Aaron Allston - 'Essentially' because he has a very minor appearance in the films, but his personality was created by Allston. He's really funny - though is pranks have a tendency to get a little out of hand, resulting in his commander flying into battle disguised as a Ewok). In one book, Wedge seems to be quite jealous of Wes's looks.Probably my favorite Star Wars character. Picture; http://www.freewebs.com/metee/wes.jpg

11. Spike (William the Bloody), Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Pretty much all the characters are great, but Spike really stands out. I think he makes the transition from 'the big bad' to almost part of the 'Scooby' gang really well. He's also one of very few characters that still looks good after being tortured for sveral hours. Picture; http://www.freewebs.com/metee/spike.jpg

12. Ianto Jones, Torchwood - The show itself isn't up to much, I'll admit. But Ianto is adorable, if a little dull. For the first few episodes he does very little, so of course he turns out to half a dark secret (his partially-cyberman girlfriend is hidden in the basement. She ends up being killed by the rest of the characters when it's obvious thaty she's more cyberman than human). He also cries - properly cries - in the same episode. And like everyone in Torchwood, he turns out to be bisexual. I write fanfiction about him. He's a sweetie. Picture; http://www.torchwood.org.uk/html/ianto/images/ianto.jpg
