Halloween 2007--Trick-or-treating and PARTY!

These decorations are mostly just plain seasonal stuff that stays up all season, but the bats and the lights were added for the party.
And this is my altar area decorated for the Samhain season. You'll notice the second photo is my "focus" items, and Samhain focuses on the remembering of the deceased so I have pictures of my grandparents and a departed dog.

Secondly: THE FOOD:

Picture 1 features appetizers: chips and salsa, peanuts, ranch dip, carrots, apples, mushrooms, and homemade ginger animal cookies. Picture 2 is some covered desserts for later: pumpkin muffins, cranberry muffins, and vegan pumpkin coffeecake. Pie and pumpkin roll were in the fridge. Picture 3 is the partially-eaten pumpkin roll. (The main hot meal was baked macaroni, cheesy mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob.)

And now . . . THE GUESTS!

Here we have Mikey (tell us how you REALLY feel!), Jeaux (stuffed after appetizers), two pictures of me with pumpkin muffins (I couldn't decide which "hostess" picture I liked better), and Steve and Jessica about to have their main course of baked macaroni and taters.

And now what you've all been waiting for . . . THE COSTUMES!

The first two pictures are Steve and Jessica being silly in football costumes. The last two are Jeaux in his "Killer B" costume (in the first he's brandishing the knife, in the second you can see his stinger and wings better).

And Mikey and I dressed as . . . JAY AND SILENT BOB!
Can you tell I'm standing on a stool for most of the pictures so I can be an appropriate height next to Mikey?

Aftermath: THE SPOILS (MEANING CANDY, DUH!)

These are all after we got back, and we were having dessert and trading candy. Jeaux separates his into cool little piles.

Mikey was pretty beat after a long day. Jeaux was wearing his "Your Mom" nametag--it was his alternate costume, going as "Your Mom." And here's me with my "SNOOGANS" Jay hat so you can see it better. (Yes, I'm aware that Jay does not have pointed ears. That was not part of the costume.)
