Highlights

These are the "Must-Sees" and the most popular parts of swankivy.com.

ART
Negative One Webcomic page. My best realistic pencil art to date. The Negative One Best-Of Gallery features the art itself without having to look at the story.
So You Write Comic strip page. Cute manga style characters, in color.
Realistic & Serious Drawings Doodles page. Contains links to my non-cartoon art.
Character Sketches Doodles page. Pictures of characters from short stories to novels. Has links to others' fanart of my stuff.
Anime & Manga Drawings Doodles page. Some licensed characters and some originals; Japanese style drawing.
WRITING: SHORT FICTION
Reviews Page Short Stories Page. You can see all the reviews for my short stories in one place and choose which one you might like best based on public opinion.
WRITING: LONG FICTION
Negative One Webcomic page. Fantasy readers will like the story, as it's multi-layered and has realistic characters despite its being speculative fiction. Read the webcomic's introduction to get a non-spoilery idea of what the comic is about.
Current Long Fiction Projects Section Long Fiction Page. You can see my front-burner novel projects and read excerpts from some of them. I can't really "highlight" one more than the others because that's like asking a mom to choose her favorite kid, but Finding Mulligan is the newest and Bad Fairy is my most traditional and epic fantasy.
The House That Ivy Built Section Long Fiction Page. THTIB has been a fixture in my life since 1996, so now its page is gigantic. It's silly, but fun. Here you can sample excerpts from all six books as well as look at "extras" like the encyclopedia and some cool visual stuff.
WRITING: ESSAYS
Asexuality Top Ten Essays page, philosophical section. This is a look into what asexuality is and is not, and my experience being an asexual. This essay is very popular seeing as how it's gotten mainstream press. It's also somewhat humorous.
Inheritance Cycle Review Essays page, info/reviews section. My famous Eragon essay that bashes Christopher Paolini's book (and its three sequels) to pieces. Like the books? See why I didn't and why you probably shouldn't. Hate the books? You'll enjoy these. Haven't read the books? Don't; here's why.
Top 30 Fictional Characters Essays page, silly section. This is a list of the imaginary people I find most attractive in all of fiction. This is a funny, popular essay, and readers can submit their own favorite character lists to be displayed.
Why I'm a Vegetarian Essays page, anecdotes section. People often want to know why I'm a vegetarian. This answers it with my personal philosophy.
When Too Much Dungeons and Dragons Changes Your Religion Essays page, anecdotes section. This is the famous "Wiccan Boy" essay that so many people like.
WRITING: RANTS
Conversations With Assholes Rants page. A categorized-by-type-of-asshole list that lets you read text-based conversations with people who probably shouldn't be on the Internet.
Gay Marriage Rant Rants page. My reasons for being pro-gay-marriage, with a top ten format in which I answer the most popular questions about the topic.
Unwanted Advances Rant Rants page. My explanation for why I don't "feel flattered" when men give me unwanted attention.
Retail Rant Rants page. A long bulleted list of things I hated about working retail.
WRITING: JOURNALS
Work Log Journals page. This was a very popular part of my site when I was still updating, but it is still funny now: For six years of working in a bookstore, I recorded my daily retail hell, giving you detailed accounts of stupid, rude, and horrific customers. It has a top ten list for the most willfully ignorant and worst customers for those who want the Cliff's Notes version.
PHOTOS
Ivy Photo Album Photos page. The obligatory collection of photos of this webmistress.
This Year's Photo Album Photos page. 2012 photo album gets updated whenever something interesting happens.
Previous Years Photo Album Photos page. These are my favorite photos from before the current year, divided by album.
SwankiVY PhotoJournal Calendar Photos page. This is a photo-a-day collection in calendar format, with brief journal entries detailing the day's activities. It was an experiment I did for all of 2008.
Japan Scrapbook Photos page. With the number of people interested in going to Japan here in the United States, lots of people find it very interesting to see that I actually did it. You can see my experience here.
